Orange Camaro
This exceptional 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Rally Sport / Z/28 was originally delivered by Booth Chevrolet on Long Island, New York, and today stands as a concours-level example of one of Chevrolet’s most celebrated performance cars of the era.
Factory-equipped with an impressive array of options, it features Rally Sport trim including an Endura front bumper, a Deluxe Comfort Weave interior, console, and full gauge package including the rare Speed Warning indicator. Other options include a simulated Rosewood steering wheel and deluxe seat belts—perfectly blending performance with upscale refinement in true late-1960s fashion.
The car spent its early life in New York and New Jersey before being taken off the road in the mid-1970s following a front-end accident, having accumulated just over 22,000 original miles. It was then carefully stored indoors for decades, passing through a small number of owners but never returning to service.
In 2015, I discovered the car through a personal connection and acquired it from a private collector unable to undertake its restoration. A comprehensive, no-expense-spared, ground-up restoration commenced in 2019, with an unwavering focus on authenticity and factory-correct detail, including extensive use of New Old Stock (NOS) parts. This painstaking restoration was showcased step by step on the Team Camaro web site, Build Projects forum, where it has received over 400,000 views.
Remarkably, the car retains the majority of its original, born-with drivetrain, including the engine, transmission, and rear end—all of which had never been disassembled prior to restoration—an extraordinary testament to its originality.
The painstaking restoration, completed by Vancouver Classic Cars, was extensively documented and featured on the Team Camaro website, where it has garnered over 400,000 views. The quality of the work is further validated by its achievements at the 2024 Camaro Nationals in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. Competing in the prestigious Concours Class, the car achieved an outstanding score of 98.6% on a 5,000-point judging scale earning is a Platinum and was additionally honored with a Best in Show Judges’ Choice award.
Today, this remarkable Z/28 represents originality, and concours-level craftsmanship performed by Vancouver Classic Cars Ltd.
